Palm Sunday - March 29th
During the service, we will celebrate the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem for his last Passover. This festive service will include our traditional donkey procession and palm branches but will also have undertones of solemnity as we prepare to enter Holy Week.
Maundy Thursday remembers the commandment that Christ gave us, “I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another.” (John 13:34) We’ll also celebrate the Lord’s Supper, remembering the meal Christ shared with his disciples before his death. The word Maundy is derived from the Latin word for command. The choir will present In Calvary’s Shadow, a Tenebrae Service by Victor C. Johnson. Tenebrae is Latin for shadows or darkness. All are invited to join us for a soup supper as we remember Christ’s commandment through the sharing of a meal, Lord’s Supper and Tenebrae service from 6:00 to 7:30pm.
