All Church Retreat

All Church Retreat for All Ages September 11 – 13, 2009 You’re encouraged to join your church family at the All Church Retreat held at Cascades Camp near Yelm in the autumn. This will be the forty-fifth year that this congregation has joined together in fellowship, Bible Study and fun. If you have never attended, I hope that this will be the year you will say, “Yes, I’ll come!” The setting is beautiful, accommodations are accessible and the food is good. Transportation and scholarship funds are always available. We’ll be staying at Timberidge Lodge and dining a short distance away at the Nisqually Center (accessible by a short walk or there is always a carpool to meals). You can see the camp on-line at cascadescamp.org or learn more about this wonderful weekend by speaking to people in the congregation. Room is available for more people—log cabins will possibly be rented if there is a need. Check with the church office to see how you can sign up today!

Grace Is A Gift

When we work an eight-hour day and receive eight hours' pay for our efforts, that is a WAGE. When we compete with an opponent and receive a trophy for our superior performance, that is a PRIZE. When we receive something in recognition for our service or achievement, that is an AWARD. But when we can earn no wage, can win no prize and deserve no award — yet we receive such a gift — that is unmerited favor. That is undeserved kindness. That is GRACE.
